Scrapbooking Page Ideas: 'About Me' Challenge

Scrapbooking about myself? No thank you! I have no problem coming up with scrapbooking page ideas for my kids, my family, my anscestors, or our latest vacation, but coming up with pages about myself are a lot more difficult.

Part of the problem is that I don't have a lot of recent pictures of myself. I'm usually the one behind the camera, and the only time I'll relinquish that duty is for someone to take a group shot. Pictures of just me are pretty rare.

However, the single head shot does exist and every so often I come across it when scrapping - like this picture of myself sporting one of the groomsman's hat and scarf at a friend's wedding:

I AM... (12x12)

I AM...
  • crying tears as they take off, but cheering as they fly
  • committed to my primary vocation
  • addicted to trashy romance novels
  • christ - annointed, but not accepted
  • plaid jumpers, bobby socks, and saddle shoes
  • Ateh, princess of the Khazars
  • contemporary whimsy with a touch of shabby chic
  • a grammar goddess
  • late...again.
  • King's Constant Reader
  • Halle Berry with a splash of double venti caramel frappuccino

I really like this picture of myself (another rare occurrence!) - mostly because I think it captures the fun and whimsical side of my personality. While I was looking at it, I remembered a college creative writing assignment I had done that made us write an autobiographical poem about ourselves. I couldn't find the original poem (probably a good thing!), so I decided to recreate it's list form in the journaling on this page.

Starting with a list is a great way to inspire some 'about me' scrapbooking page ideas. Try making a list of your favorites things, your dreams, your goals, whatever! Still stumped? There are tons of great 'About Me' scrapbooking page ideas with lists on the web.

I hope this month's scrapbooking challenge helps you come up with some creative scrapbooking page ideas that are all about you!
