For these Thanksgiving photos, I decided to describe and explain these special Thanksgiving traditions. My family is very tradition-driven. Even one break from the usual routine of the holiday is met with whines and complaints from everyone. As this layout notes, one year my Mom swapped out the traditional canned cranberries for a fancy whole cranberry sauce recipe. We whined like toddlers and annoyed her so much, she vowed not to ever mess with the Thanksgiving menu again. In honor of the never-changing menu, I took a picture of our Thanksgiving table and labeled each of our menu items. The journaling blocks help tell the story of how each item came to be a part of our table. The facing page preserves the memories of a few of the other sacred traditions of our family Thanksgiving including card games, the turkey carving tradition, and a recipe that's been passed down through our family for a number of generations. Hopefully this layout offers you a few new ideas for scrapping the holidays!
