Baby Scrapbook Layout Ideas: Hanging Out

I'm always looking for new baby scrapbook layout ideas. Sometimes it's hard to come up with yet another baby layout when working on a book - particularly when the pictures don't lend themselves to a specific theme like "Bathtime," "First Steps," etc.

I had this group of pictures I had taken one day when I was at home with my daughter - just the two of us. We spent a whole hour just rocking, singing, reading, and playing in the big recliner in the living room. But the pictures don't really have a specific theme to them at all.

You can imagine how happy I was to run across some great baby scrapbook layout ideas in one of my scrapbooking magazines. One that stood out was titled "Hanging Out." It was a perfect theme for my set of pictures.

I loved the way the layout I saw had hung the pictures to solidify the theme - which I did by anchoring some brads to a strip of patterned paper at the top of the page and using some scrap fiber and eyelets to "hang" the pictures.

I used a matching cardstock and my Cricut to create the first part of the title - I inked the edges of the letters in brown to help them stand out a bit. The second part of the title uses letter stickers. The brackets on either end of the title pull it together across the two pages.

The journaling reads:
St. Thomas Aquinas said that a sacrament is the veil through which we see Christ. If that's so, then you are most definitely a sacrament to me. There's something about just sitting and hanging out with you ~ rocking in the chair, reading books, singing songs, just laughing and smiling together that shows love.

I added a little texture to the journaling by using some of the letter stickers and pulled the fiber from the right side of the layout over across the journaling block - again anchored with brads.

One of my scrapbook new year's resolutions this year was to make a card with the scraps left over from every layout I make. The negatives left over from my cricut title cut worked perfect for this card!

I added some flowers I had left in my Making Memories {note}worthy Embellishment jar (Audrey Collection) and a Hero Arts Everyday Saying stamp to finish it off.
